Job Title Cost Engineer
Location: Site
No. of Positions: 1
Experience Required: 5–7 Years
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and monitor project cost control activities at site in line with approved budgets, schedules and contractual requirements.
2. Monitor project expenditure, commitments, accruals and cash flow against approved budgets.
3. Prepare and maintain periodic cost reports, dashboards and management summaries.
4. Prepare and update project budgets, cost forecasts, EAC and ETC.
5. Monitor cost performance, identify variances and provide early warnings of potential cost overruns.
6. Coordinate with Planning, Construction, Procurement, Contracts, Finance and Project Controls teams.
7. Monitor project variations, scope changes and their cost impacts.
8. Support evaluation of change requests, claims and variations.
9. Maintain accurate records of commitments, invoices, accruals and project expenditures.
10. Prepare weekly and monthly cost reports and support project management meetings.
11. Support cost risk assessments, project audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline.
2. Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in Cost Engineering, Project Controls or Cost Management.
3. Experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Infrastructure, EPC or Industrial Construction projects.
4. Site-based project execution experience is preferred.
5. Good knowledge of project cost control, budgeting, forecasting and cost reporting.
6. Experience with EAC, ETC, commitments, accruals, change orders and cost variance analysis.
7. Good understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) and progress measurement.
8. Familiarity with variations, claims and commercial aspects of EPC projects.
9. Good knowledge of MS Excel; experience with SAP, Primavera P6, Power BI or other project controls software is an advantage.
10. Strong analytical, reporting, communication and problem-solving skills.
11. Ability to coordinate effectively with project, commercial, planning, procurement and finance teams.
