Job Description
Position: Forklift driver
Location: Oman, Sohar
The Scope of Work:
Responsible for ensuring the safety of vehicle operations and the transfer of goods between locations; carrying out tasks such as loading, unloading, transporting, stacking, organizing, and dispatching goods, in order to keep them intact during transfer and to ensure the smooth progress of storage and delivery operations. Also responsible for the regular inspection, maintenance, and cleaning of transportation vehicles, to guarantee their good condition and proper functioning.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Verify that the goods ready for shipment are in good condition, ensure their safety during loading, unloading, and transportation, and guarantee the smooth completion of the delivery process;
2. Assist the warehouse supervisor with the handover of goods and related documents, ensure that these documents are complete, and carry out all tasks properly;
3. Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of the vehicles used, to ensure they can operate safely;
4. Keep proper records related to the forklifts;
5. Be aware of the potential hazards and environmental factors associated with this position, and operate in strict accordance with the established procedures;
6. Participate in the maintenance of quality, safety, occupational health, and energy management systems;
7. Fulfill all safety-related responsibilities associated with this position;
8. Place goods in the designated locations as needed, and ensure proper storage; take into account the properties of the items as well as temperature and humidity requirements to guarantee the safe storage of the goods.
Minor Responsibilities:
1. Complete other tasks assigned by superior leaders;
2. Assist other departments with the loading, unloading, and transportation of goods.
Performance Standards:
1. No safety incidents;
2. Equipment is in good condition with no abnormalities;
3. 100% accuracy in receiving and shipping goods;
4. 100% accuracy in inventory counts.
Qualifications:
1. A high school diploma or higher is required;
2. A forklift operation license is necessary, along with at least two years of relevant work experience;
3. Proficiency in handling the processes related to goods intake and output, as well as an understanding of emergency response plans to enable effective handling of unexpected situations;
4. A strong sense of responsibility and excellent execution skills
