1. Follow professional practices consistent with the college’s system policies in working with students, students’ records and colleagues.
2. Demonstrate communication and interpersonal skills as they relate to interaction with students, students’ family members, other teachers, administrators, and other personnel.
3. Are available for relevant meetings within the department, college boards,
4. students and parents and for conferences according to system policies.
5. Facilitate learning and communication by such means as holding
6. workshops, meetings and sending written communications.
7. Maintain confidentiality of students and students’ records.
8. Work cooperatively with the college administrators, special support
9. personnel, colleagues, and students’ family members.
10. Comply with rules, regulations, and policies of governing supervisory personnel.
11. Adhere to the college’s system procedures and rules such as:
i. To conduct assigned classes at the times scheduled.
ii. To enforce regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
iii. To demonstrate timeliness and attendance for assigned responsibilities.
iv. To provide adequate information, plans, and materials for substitute teachers, when required.
v. To maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptly.
vi. To attend and participate in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to college policy.
12. Comply with conditions as stated in contract.
13. Demonstrate professional practices in teaching.
14. Model correct use of language, oral and written.
15. Demonstrate accurate and up-to-date knowledge of content.
16. Implement designated curriculum.
17. Maintain lesson plans as required by college and department policy.
18. Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
19. Participate in professional development opportunities and apply the concepts to classroom and department activities.
20. Act in a professional manner and assume responsibility for the total college programme, its safety and good order.
21. Take precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities.
22. Assume responsibility for supervising students in out-of-class settings.
23. Demonstrate appropriate personal contact while in performance of college duties.
24. Assume a role in meeting the college’s student achievement goals, including academic gains of students assigned to them.
25. Assume other duties and responsibilities prescribed by the college such as but not limited to; advisory, coordination and committee duties.
